businesses without the financial or technical acumen to move beyond the world of QuickBooks. This product is a complete RIPOFF targeting a great group of suckers, i.e. It could NEVER be used by someone operating a forklift. They also sale a completely impractical mobile interface that will quickly make anyone prefer to run over to a computer before trying to navigate their handheld device software.

Yet they do not support this free reporting platform and barely support getting it connected if you're patient and don't mind waiting up to a week for answers. They include an open-source reporting platform (iReports) and market it as having fully customizable reporting. free, database packaged with a one size fits all schema and a slow and clunky front-end. The product is essentially an open-source, i.e.

The software allows for minimal to zero customization and requires to follow every step of their preset workflows. If you can adopt this software to fit your business needs, you will quickly find it is not a scalable solution whatsoever. Notice how only the negative reviews mention any specifics. Ignore any of the positive reviews they are clearly lies placed by the company. Maybe they have chosen to abandon their smaller clients in favor of bigger ones. I've never been treated so poorly by a software company EVER.

They completely abandoned me so I switched to Katana which has been awesome for my needs. Eventually no one would reply to my emails, not even my account rep. For a while I got assurances that the "best people" were working on it. Two different support people logged on and watched my workflow, confirmed I did everything correctly, and verified it was a program bug. A few months ago I uncovered a bug with how data was sent to Quickbooks that totally screwed up my books. Integrations with Quickbooks and my Sales channels were buggy and resulted in hours of extra work to edit changed sales orders and sift through garbage data sent to QB. Training was expensive and took many weeks. I paid a lot of money for this software for my small and growing business. In Fishbowl, you must create an item and then map it to the correct QuickBooks expense account, which again asks for accountant's nightmares. I do miss the QuickBooks ability to map transactions directly to expense accounts. This can create accounting headaches and even nightmares if the wrong QuickBooks accounts are assigned to items in Fishbowl. Also, Fishbowl only has rudimentary accounting functions and leaves the majority of accounting related tasks to QuickBooks.

Again, they have improved lightyears over what they were 8 years ago, but still be prepared to have some weird things happen occasionally when a software update is released. The software also tends to be buggy after new releases. To be fair, this may be as much QuickBooks' problem as Fishbowl's. Fishbowl has made tremendous improvements in this area since we first started using it, but there are still multiple times that we need to restart the connection before running an export. One inherent weakness with Fishbowl is the QuickBooks export connection. If you are considering using their products or services I would recommend in the strongest of language possible to not do any business with this company.

We are now currently pursuing legal action. Rather than try to do what is right and work things through, they have opted to take a hard line on this issue with no flexibility at all. The server has been down for long time periods (days at a time), credit card systems won't integrate properly and the software crashes regularly on our machines. Integrations, services, implementation support, and custom reports were paid for and never received. Worst of all, because of their lack of responsiveness, they claim that we are not eligible for a refund on the software because we are past the time limit for the satisfaction guarantee.

We paid for a number of items that we have not received months later, went weeks without receiving responses from them during the implementation process, and were verbally promised things that they have walked back or denied entirely. We purchased inventory software from Fishbowl and then had an exceptionally difficult time implementing the software.
